She was born on January 18, 1932 at 5:20 am. She was the former Owner and Manager of the Busy Bee Restaurant on 119th Street in Whiting, IN. She also worked as a waitress and for the Whiting Cab Company. Leona didn't drive a car until she was 44 years old. She passed away from Breast Cancer on May 11, 1979. At the time of her death, she didn't have any money to buy herself a gravestone. Dr. Johnny Colsten of the First Baptist Church of Hammond, Indiana preached her funeral and bought her the gravestone that is on her grave today.∼Leona's first marriage name was Davenport, 2nd Kuenzi, 3rd Borders. She left her first husband & family of 5 children, for reasons unknown, and never had any contact with them again, the youngest being about 1 yr.
