Mr. Bombard, who was 81 years of age, was born at Port Douglass, New York, but had made his home in Au Sable Forks nearly his entire life, he having come here when little more than a child.
Mr. Bombard had been in excellent health up to two years prior to his death, when he was injured in an accident near his farm on Palmer Hill, in April, 1932. For a time his life was despaired of following the accident, but he finally recovered, and was able to be about again. He never fully regained his strength, however, and since last November he had gradually failed until the end came last Thursday morning at 7:20 o'clock.
He was survived by his wife, four sons, George, Peter, Moses, and Richard, all of Au Sable Forks, and one daughter, Mrs. Ambrose Welcome of Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
The funeral was held from Holy Name church in Au Sable Forks, Saturday morning, January 13, 1934, at 10 o'clock and was largely attended by sorrowing relatives and friends. The pall bearers were George Pelkey, John D'Avignon, Dennis Longtemps, Alfred Bombard, Eugene Duprey and Levi Betters.
