Millard F. Jones was born 49 years ago in Brunswick and died last Tuesday in Cleveland Clinic hospital after an extended illness.
His home was in Greenwich, where he had resided about 30 years.
He served on the Greenwich Fire departmnt for 28 years and had been its chief; was on the Greenwich council for one term and Greenwich school board for two terms.
Mr. Jones for three years was a deputy state fire marshal, having graduated from Ohio State University Arson Investigation school. He was elected mayor of Greenwich in 1957 and resigned during his first term to accept the position of assistant superintendent of the Huron County Highway department, which job he held at the time of his death.
The deceased leaves his wife and two sons, Rodney of Greenwich and Jerry at home; sister, Mrs. Johnson of Hinckley.
Funeral services and burial place in Greenwich, Friday.
