He was the son of Brigadier General Elliott C. Cutler Sr. and Caroline Parker Cutler.
On Wednesday, June 5, 1946 he married Mrs. Genevieve Spalding Patch in St. George's Church in Griffin, Georgia.
They were the parents of two children.
He was born on June 15, 1920 in Boston, Massachusetts. He served during World War II and the Korean conflict. After receiving his doctorate in electrical engineering from Georgia Tech, he became a Professor of Electrical Engineering at the United States Military Academy. He retired as a Brigadier General after 35 years of military service. On June 5, 1946 he married Mrs. Genevieve Spalding Patch in St. George's Church in Griffin, Georgia near Atlanta. She was the widow of Captain Alexander M. Patch III, who died in France in October 1944. She died in 2001. He died at the age of 86 years on Monday, November 27, 2006 at the Country Rehab & Nursing Center in Newburyport, Massachusetts. Survivors included one son and daughter-in-law, one daughter and son-in-law, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Arrangements were by Elliott, Woodworth & Rogers Family Funeral Home in Newburyport. Interment was at West Point.
