Christopher Layton Larson, age 65, beloved husband, stepfather and grandfather, passed away quietly early Tuesday morning, Oct. 28, 2008, at his home in Wrightwood after a battle with cancer.

He was born to Joseph and Thelma Larson on November 17, 1942, in the city of Los Angeles, Calif. He had resided in Wrightwood since 1991, when he married his wife, Sharon.

He worked for the city of Victorville in the Engineering Department for 17 years until he retired in December 2006.

He enjoyed music and playing his guitar,gardening and landscaping, reading and traveling. He was most happy at home with his wife and enjoying his five granddaughters.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and had been serving a mission for the church at the Victor Valley Institute. He will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon, and three stepdaughters, Rebecca and her husband, Brian Peacock, Jennifer Payne and Amanda Payne; five granddaughters, Lacie, Allexis, Chelsea, Mollie and Amber, all of Wrightwood. He is also survived by two brothers, Len Larson of Bieber, Calif., David Larson of Gunnison, Colo., and by two sisters, Ann Dalton and Leah Wall, both of Bountiful, Utah.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, 2008, at the LDS Chapel, located on Highway 2 in Wrightwood..
