Upper Zion, Jan 20
Miss Lucy Ann Andrews an aged lady who has been living at the home of her nephew Mr. Robert Seldon Garnett, for a number of years, died Tuesday night, January 18. Her death was the result of the shock of being accidentally burned early that morning when her clothing caught in some way unknown from a heating stove and she was painfully burned before the flames could be extinguished by her niece, Miss Emma Garnett, who was the first person to reach her and whose hands were badly burned in the effort. Mr Garnett, hearing the screams of his sister, quickly extinguished the fire.
Burial services were conducted at the grave by Rev. L. M. Ritter Jan 20 and her body was interred in the church cemetery.
She had been a member of the Upper Zion church since early girl hood and a regular attendant until hindered by the infirmities of age. Two brothers, Charles H andrews of Oklahoma and W. B. Andrews of this county and a number of nieces and nephews survive her.
(born Feb 22, 1833 - died Jan 18 1916)
Lucy Ann, along with many of her family, was moved to Greenlawn Cemetery after the military took over Upper Zion.
