Mr. Rousey was born June 11, 1941, at Marinette, Wisconsin, the son of John and Jean (Zifka) Rousey. He moved to Myrtle Creek, Oregon, as a child with his parents, where he was raised and educated. He graduated from Myrtle Creek High School in 1958, then enlisted in the U.S. Army and served from 1958 until 1960. Following his discharge he worked for Boeing Aircraft in Seattle, Washington, until 1974, then for General Dynamics Corp. in San Diego, California, until moving to Riverside, California, in 1984, where he worked for Wohr Aircraft Company. He married Ann Maria Waddell July 27, 1985, in San Diego. They moved to Minot in 1990, and he worked for Sioux Manufacturing of Fort Totten. They moved to Jamestown in 1993. He had recently received a patent for a police protective shield. He was a member of the Society of Material and Process Engineers.
He is survived by his parents, Eugene, Oregon; his wife, and four daughter, Maria, Ronda and Jennifer Rousey, all of Jamestown, and Christy Rousey, Seattle, Washington; two sons, Todd and Jeffery, both Monroe, Washington; two stepchildren, Denise Rousey and Thomas Rousey, both San Diego; a brother, David, Texas; a sister, Sherry, Eugene, Oregon; and two grandchildren.
