TREZEVANT: Harvey "Nub" Cox, 89, died Sunday, May 15, 2011 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services are Wednesday, May 18, 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Trezevant with burial in Trezevant Cemetery.
Mr. Cox was born November, 1921 in Lovelady, Texas to the late Josh and Oma Cox Gafford. He was a welder and World War II Army veteran.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Fair Mae Akins Cox; one son, Harold Cox; four sisters, Maudie Brown, Hazel Cox, Wilma Lou Ezzell and Martha Marie Cox; and two brothers, Horace Cox and W.T. Cox.
Survivors include: two daughters, Pam (David) Bryant of Trezevant and Lisa (Ricky) Meals of Huntingdon; one son, Richard Carroll Cox of Atwood; one brother, Billy Cox of Weches, Texas; 10 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation is Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Brummitt Funeral Home in Trezevant and Wednesday 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
