George Bodkin, 85, a retired farmer of Moyers, W.Va., died Thursday evening at Kings Daughters Hospital in Staunton, Mr. Bodkin was born at Moyers, July 12, 1889 and was a son of Sebastian and Sarah Crummett Bodkin. Mr. Bodkin was a deacon of Crummett's Run Church of the Brethren. On May 1, 1913, he married the former Verna Simmons, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Mary Eye of Staunton; a son, Raymond Bodkin of Moyers; a sister, Mrs. Verdie Propst of Moyers; a brother, Kennie Bodkin of Staunton; eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. The funeral was conducted at 11 a.m. Sunday at Crummett's Run Church of the Brethren by the Rev. H.S. Craig. Burial was in Crummett's Run Church Cemetery. Obaugh Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
