James Lee Bacon, 75, of Dixon, was born August 26, 1908, near Dixon in Phelps County, a son of Small Jeff and Julia Ziegler Bacon, and died at 1:38 p.m., Monday, June 18, 1984, at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center, Rolla. Mr. Bacon had been in failing health for a number of years.
He was united in marriage December 23, 1931, near Dixon, to the former Miss Dola Evelyn West, and to this union, two sons were born.
Mr. Bacon was preceded in death by his father, Small J. Bacon, on December 19, 1956; his mother, Mrs. Julia Bacon, on April 25, 1959; one brother Jeff Small Bacon; and one sister, Mrs. Emma Katy Watson.
He was a member of the High Point Church of God near Dixon. He was a lifelong farmer until his retirment in 1972.
Funeral Services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, 1984, at the Dixon Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes.
Interment was in the Dixon Cemetery.
