Veteran Union Pacific Employee Stricken at Car Shops
Stricken with a heart attack while at his work early Friday, Samuel Alter, 62, died at the South Omaha railway terminal car shops before aid could be summoned. He had been a car inspector for the Union Pacific for the past 25 years. Though he had been ill for some time he had worked steadily.
He leaves his wife, Emma; three sons, Frank, Dawn and Oral; four daughters, Dean Opal, Anna and Muriel; six brothers and six sisters.
Funeral services will be Monday afternoon from the residence at 4 o'clock. Burial will be in Graceland Park cemetery.
