Obituary - Frederick Chancy Getty, age 80, passed away Friday, January 19, 1990 in Clearfield after an extended illness.
He was born April 8, 1909 in Corona, California, son of George G. and Mary Inez Scott Getty. He married Margaret A. Scott November 5, 1933; solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple. She passed away March 7, 1953. He married Ella W. Smith October 4, 1957.
He worked as an electronic equipment specialist at Hill AFB retiring in 1971. Member of the Clearfield Kiwanis Club since 1958, serving as director, club president, division III Governor and Utah-Idaho District New Club Building Chairman.
Active member of the LDS Church, served two stake missions, Elders Quorum presidency, Seventies group leader and High Priest group leader.
Survived by his wife, Ella W. Getty, Clearfield; three sons, Frederick W. Getty, Glendale Heights, Ill.; James L. Getty, Nelson, Wis.; USAF Ret. Major Robert L. Getty, Fort Worth, Texas; two daugthers, Margaret Jean Patrick, Wonewoc, Wis.; Marjorie Alice Bozzone, Reedsburg, Wis.; sister, Mary A. Mamzano, San Jose, Calif.; two brothers, Kenneth N. Getty, Cloverdale, Calif.; Richard L. Getty, Loomis, Calif.; 21 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; fosur step daughters, Maxine Green, Oakland, Calif.; Norinne Holt, Sunland, Calif.; Laura Warren, Potomic, Mc.; Trudy Larkins, Newhall, Calif.; 14 step grandchildren; and 22 step great-grandchildren.
Services Tuesday, 11 a.m, Clearfield 3rd LDS Ward, 231 East 300 North. Friends may call Monday, 6-8 p.m. at Lindquist's Clearfield Mortuary, 1050 South State, and Tuesday, 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
