For her many years of selfless service to the St. Paul Church community, she was awarded the Medal of Merit by Cardinal McCarrick of the Washington, D.C., Archdiocese in 2004. Lorraine was a home maker and loving mother of four children, as well as a cafeteria aide for ten years at John T. Baker Middle School.
Survivors, besides her husband, are two daughters: Kay V. Cilensek and husband Ron of Hartford, CT; Carol L. Robinson and husband Roger of Chambersburg, PA; two sons: Brian A. Sadtler and wife Melissa of Damascus, MD; and Ronald P. Sadtler and wife Kim of Forest Hill, MD. Also surviving is her sister, Dorothy Thompson, of Adamstown, MD; eight grandchildren: Dawn M. Fadely, J. Shane Fadely, Erica L. Englert, Rachael C. Darby, Daniel A. Sadtler, Jennifer L. List, Sierra L. Sadtler, Garrett T. Sadtler, and Miranda S. Sadtler; and one great-grand daughter: Rachael M. Fadely. Lorraine was predeceased by sisters: Harriet Lifka, Charlotte Childs, Ethelene Ayton, Helen Offutt, Catherine Dorsey, Jeanette Watkins; and three brothers: George Walter, Franklin Walter, and Norman Walter.
The family will receive friends 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. Monday, January 13th, at Molesworth-Williams P.A., Funeral Home , 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus, Md. 20872. A prayer service will be held during the evening viewing. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 14, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 9250 Damascus Road, Damascus, Md. 20872. Interment will immediately following in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring, Md.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to: St. Paul Catholic Church, 9240 Damascus Rd, Damascus, MD 20872; or Lorien Health Systems, 713 Midway Ave, Mt Airy, MD 21771.
