Mrs. Theresa "Tee" McCormick Graves died peacefully Monday, Nov. 3, 2003, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church, where she was a member for 50 years. Interment will be private.
Tee was born in Sanford and was the daughter of the late William and Juanita McCormick Chears. She moved to Greensboro, graduated from Greensboro Senior High and attended the Womens College, now UNCG.
She was a member of the Debutante Club, president of the Junior League, later a sustaining member and was named "Woman of the Year." She was employed by Yost and Little as a realtor, Carlson Farms Country Club, Dairy Farm Equipment Company and Lucas Travel Agency. She enjoyed playing golf and tennis, but enjoyed being with her grandsons most of all.
Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Elmer W. "Moe" Graves Jr.; son E. Wesley Graves III and wife Joan of Columbia, S.C.; grandsons W. Scott Graves and wife Lexanne and Jeffrey Allen Graves.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Cuba Hattaway and her staff at Britthaven of Guilford for their help and loving care of Tee over the past five years.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Virginia Gilmer Room.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 617 N. Elm St., Greensboro, NC 27401.
