Franklin T. Harrison, 92, went home to be with the Lord on January 8, 2014 in Jacksonville, FL surrounded by his family. Frank was born on May 5, 1921 in Lake City, FL to William C. and Ruby Harrison.

One of seven siblings, Frank grew up in rural Florida during the Great Depression. A member of America's Greatest Generation, he served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps in the 15th Regiment, 6th Marine Division during WWII and was part of the battle of Okinawa. At the end of the War, Frank and his wife Mary came to Jacksonville where over the years he owned several Gulf and Standard Oil service stations and auto parts stores.

Frank was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Middleburg for many years. He was a Mason and member of the Middleburg Masonic Lodge #107 F&AM, Scottish Rite and the Shriners.

Frank was predeceased by his loving wife of 63 years, Mary Harrison in 2005. He is survived by three sons, Ronald (Sharon), Dennis (Sharon) and Gary (Beth); six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, sister, Gloria Smith (Ben); close friend, Sue Reed; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends.

Frank was a Godly man of honesty and integrity. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, friend, businessman and Christian. He touched the lives of many and will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew him. He fought the good fight, he finished the race, he kept his faith.

Funeral services for Frank T. Harrison will be held 11AM Monday, January 13, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Middleburg, 2645 Blanding Blvd., with Rev. Tim Martin officiating. Interment will follow with military honors in Jacksonville Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 12, 2014 from 4PM-7PM at Jacksonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 111 Blanding Blvd, Orange Park, FL. The family requests memorials in Frank's name be made to the Greater Things Account with First Baptist Church of Middleburg at 2645 Blanding Blvd Middleburg, FL.
