Mrs. Amalia Schmidt, 69, widow of Alexander Schmidt, died Saturday at the home of her son-in-law, Frederick R. Bender, 2122 South Washington.
Amalia Heintz was born December 4, 1871, in Strassburg, Russia, and was married to Mr. Schmidt in 1892 in Weimar, Russia.
They came to Milwaukee in 1912 and after a short stay there came to Saginaw. Mr. Schmidt died here in 1935.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Bliss at Elm, and its Ladies Aid society.
She leaves six sons and two daughters, Mrs. Fred Bender and Alexander, Carl, Julius, Reinhold, and John Schmidt, all of Saginaw, Edward Schmidt of Detroit and Mrs. Gardiner Lane of Freeland, and 10 grandchildren.
The funeral will take place at 12:30PM Monday at the Case Chapel and at 1PM at St. John's church. Rev. Oscar G. Frey will officiate and burial will be in Oakwood.
