Cecil E. Mitchell, age 77, passed away Saturday, November 5, 2011 at a local hospital. He served 21 years in the United States Navy and was a veteran of both the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War.
Preceding him in death was his wife of 47 years Carol.
He is survived by his daughters; Barbara Maraldo (John), Teresa Mitchell, Kimberly Thani, Tina Jones (John), Jonte' Mitchell, Ashley Ganey (Jason) and Tiffany Mitchell, his sons; Billy Mitchell, Daniel Mitchell (Linda), Stephen Mitchell, Brandon Mitchell and Joey Mitchell, 11 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, his brother; Henry Mitchell, and his sisters; Mary Moore (Ray), Lulabell Wetherbee, Rea Williams and Shirley Scott (Ross).
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, November 11, 2011 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North-Cantonment with Rev. Mark Torres officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, November 10, 2011 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
