Mrs. Effie Jane Halbrook, 63 years old of near Glen Allen, died Sunday, June 19, at Bond Nursing Home in Lutesville. She had been a patient five months. Mrs. Halbrook was born in Dent County August 2, 1891.
She moved to a farm near Glen Allen eight years ago.
She is survived by her husband, Oscar Halbrook, and eight children; Charles Halbrook of Imperial, Mo.; James Halbrook of Glen Allen, Mo.; Mrs. Lester Veal of St. Louis, Mo.; Mrs. Helen Rogan of St. Louis, Mo.; Mrs. Margaret Suedemover of St. Louis, Mo.; Mrs. Mildred Huff of St. Louis, Mo.; Mrs. Hazel Laramore of Ferguson, MO.; and Mrs. Mary Showers of Des Moines, Iowa; two brothers, Richard Crocker and Frank Crocker, both of Lesterville, Mo.; one sister, Mrs. Ollie Gruff of St. Louis, Mo.; one half-brother, Ed Crocker of Lesterville, Mo.; and two half-sisters, Mrs. Lucy Cawley of Farmington, Mo.; and Mrs. Blanche Wheatley of St. Louis, Mo.
One brother and one sister preceded her in death.
Funeral rites were Tuesday, June 21 at Ward Funeral Home in Lutesville, with Rev. Woodrow W. Welker officiating. Burial was in Bollinger County Memorial Park, with Ward Funeral Home in charge of service.
