Ms. Mary Lee Bishop, age 87, died Friday at East Georgia Regional Medical Center. Ms. Bishop was a lifelong Bulloch County native and attended Georgia Southern University. She spent over 40 years in the real estate business where she was an owner and broker at Mary Bishop Realty Company. Ms. Bishop was a long time member of the Friendship Baptist Church where she was active in her Sunday school class.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. George and Addie Lee Bishop, her sister, Lucy Lou Bishop, and her nephews, Bryan Laircey and Jimmy Carlton Bishop.
She is survived by three nieces: Gwenda Laircey of Statesboro, Kay Waters of Helena, AL, Janice Williams of Winston-Salem, NC; her brother, Carl (Mattie Ruth) Bishop of Statesboro, her sister, Sadie Hendrick of Statesboro, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Sunday from 12:30pm-2:00pm at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be Sunday at 2:00pm at the Chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home.
Interment will be at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.
