Sarah, 63, of Chelsea, Michigan, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2014 at home. She was the daughter of Jack and Priscilla (Paulsen) Taylor.

She lived in the Chelsea area since she was a little girl, and graduated from Chelsea High School in 1968. She worked for Chelsea Lumber Company in Saline as a receptionist for five years, was secretary at Steele Heating and Cooling Inc., and was a licensed child care provider, caring for children as if they were her own. She was trained as a cosmetologist and worked as a beautician before staying at home to raise her children. She was a cheerleading coach for Chelsea middle and high schools.

She enjoyed bowling, cleaning, and deeply loved and admired her grandchildren.

Surviving are three children: Thomas M. Jr. "Tucker" (Gretchen) Steele of Chelsea, Patrick T. (Jennifer) Steele of Chelsea, and Kate R. Steele (Mark Merriman) of Adrian, along with her former husband and lifelong friend, Thomas M. Steele Sr.; eight grandchildren: Olivia, Savannah, Thomas III, Braden, Garrett, Corbin, Caden, and Sloane; her siblings: Patricia Wirth of Chatham, Jacquilyn (David) Otis of Marquette, Alonzo (Donna) Taylor of Chelsea, Robert (Janice) Taylor of Chelsea, and Rebecca Allen of Chelsea; her brothers- and sisters-in-law: Linda (Bob) Smith of Kalamazoo, John Jr. (Joyce) Steele of Manchester, Mary Ellen (C. Jerry) Picklesimer of Brooklyn, Dee (Bob) Koengeter of Chelsea, and Christopher Steele (Elaine Sayers) of Houston, Texas; and several nieces, nephews, and special friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law Jack Wirth, and nephew Patrick "Tracy" Taylor.

A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at the Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home, Chelsea, with Mary S. Royce and Sandy Eisele co-officiating. Burial took place in the spring. at the Taylor Family Cemetery in Trenary.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Alger County Historical Society or to Chelsea Athletics for Football and Cheerleading
