Lyman Dillard Golding Jr., 65, passed away Dec. 15, 2003, in Simi Valley, Calif.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 9, 2004, at Forbis and Dick North Elm Street with burial following in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lyman Dillard Golding Sr. and recently by his mother, Margaret Hall Golding.

Lyman was born in Washington, D.C. He graduated from Bethesda Chevy Chase High School, Bethesda, Md., California State University, Northridge and was in the Air Force. He was employed by Southern Die Casting in High Point, and IRD in Columbus, Ohio, before being transferred to California.
He shared his hobby by collecting Lionel trains with his longtime beloved friend, Faye Ann Walker. They belonged to the Toy Train Owners Society and spent much of their time travelling to train shows around the country.

He is survived by his brothers, Michael Phillips Golding of Snohomish, Wash. and Patrick Davis Golding of King; sisters, Margo Leigh Golding of Granada Hills, Calif. and Linda Golding Harris of Northridge, Calif.; sons, Lee Golding of Springfield, Mo., and Tommy Golding of Kansas City, Mo.; a grandson, Dalton; and a granddaughter, Hillary. He is also survived by aunts and uncles, Edith Matthews of Greensboro, Jean and Richard Earl Johnson of Concord, James and Blanche Hall of Randleman, and Mary Cochran of Buaford, Ga.; nieces, Leila Campbell, Jessica Golding and Caitlin Golding; cousins, Ann Yow of Randleman, Randy Matthews of Charlotte, Resa Spencer of Browns Summit, Debbie Allen of Greenville, Anita Hempill of Randleman, Ricky Johnson of Archdale, Gordon Golding of Paris, France, Jonathan Golding of Boston, Mass., Jenny Wakefield of Charlotte.
