Professional Football Player. After graduating from Davis High School in 1938, he went to Brigham Young University. He was a quarterback for BYU from 1939 to 1941. He was a sixteenth round pick by the Washington Redskins, the 146th player selected, in the 1942 NFL draft. He served in World War II in the Navy as a communications officer. After the war, he played for the Salt Lake Seagulls in the Pacific Coast Football League in 1946 and 1947. His only scoring was a single touchdown pass in 1946 in a winning game against the Oakland Giants. He retired in 1984 after some four decades with the Deseret News as sports writer, columnist, editor and copy, wire and news editor. He was Utah's Sports Writer of the Year in 1964 and 1966. He died of cancer.
