Born July 16, 1926 in Sullivan County, she was the daughter of George and Jessie (Bedwell) Cox.
Survivors include two sons, Dennis Bowen of Brownsburg and George Bowen of Orlando, Fla.; three step-sons, Leroy Bowen of Bloomington, Norman Bowen of Tennessee and Charles Bowen of Poland, Ind.; two step- daughters, Shirley Thompson of Greenwood and Barbara McCoy of Sullivan; one brother, Jack Cox of Sullivan; one sister, Rosemary Tarwater of Sullivan; 15 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Bowen in 1976.
Funeral services were at Banks and Brust Funeral Home in Sullivan at 1:30 p.m. today with the Rev. Ron Riggs and the Rev. Timothy Fleace officiating. Burial followed at the Mount Moriah Cemetery.
