Motion Picture Producer, Director. He was Syrian-American film producer, who produced the successful "Halloween" series of horror films beginning with the first installment in 1978. After graduating from high school, he came to the United States to study at University of California at Los Angeles. He was a producer for CBS television before making films. He married twice and had four children. He died as the result of injuries suffered in the terrorist bombing attacks in Amman, Jordan, of November 9, 2005. His daughter, Rima Akkad Monla, also died in the attack.
