DAVENPORT — Betty Paulsen, 80, of Davenport passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014. Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Davenport VFW Post 828.

Betty was born Feb. 10, 1933, in Hannibal, Mo., and moved as a young girl to Davenport.

She was united in marriage to A. John Paulsen on April 25, 1951, in Davenport; he preceded her in death on Nov. 28, 1996.

Betty loved her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren very much and also loved camping, fishing and gambling at the casino. She coached junior bowling for many years at Bowlmor Lanes. She was a member of the Davenport VFW Post 828 women's auxiliary for many years.

Those honoring her memory include her "favorite" daughter, Nancy (Mike) Caufield; sons, Tim (Amy), Randy (girlfriend, Michelle), Gary and Craig, all of Davenport; A. John Paulsen Jr., Bakersfield, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and three great-granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Steven; and a daughter-in-law, Kim Paulsen.
