Jerry Montgomery, 75, of Hillsboro, Texas passed away January 8, 2014 at his residence. He was born November 5, 1938 in Chillicothe, Texas to Terry Jack and Dorothy Daniel Montgomery.
He graduated from high school in Grand Prairie and married Hazel Montgomery. They moved to Hillsboro shortly after their marriage. He received an Associates Degree from MCC in Old Testament Studies.
Hazel preceded him in death in 1994. In October 2003 he married Mary Alice Sargent.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Hillsboro where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher and was a very active member of the Hillsboro Masonic Lodge. An avid reader, Jerry recently considered himself an amateur mathematician. He enjoyed woodworking, especially making gifts for all of his family. He was very proud of all his grandkids and great-grandkids.
Also preceding him in death were his parents; son, Timothy Montgomery and daughter, Linda Hunt.
Survivors include his second wife, Mary Alice Montgomery; three children, Pamela, Robert and Danny Montgomery; seven step-children, brother, Charles Montgomery, 33 grand children; numerous great-grand children; several nieces and nephews and a host of extended family.
Funeral services will be held January 11, 2014 in Hillsboro. Burial will follow at the Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro, Texas...M_M
