Julie Keyser Peters, 66, died on Thursday, November 14, 2013, after a valiant three-year battle with lung cancer. She is survived by her husband, The Rev. Dr. John B. Peters; her two sons, Mark (Stephanie) of Venice, California and Matthew (Susan) of Los Angeles, California; two brothers, Pete (Sandy) and Rusty of Charlottesville, Virginia; and nine nieces and nephews. She was a graduate of both the University of Virginia and Eastern Mennonite Nursing School. She served as a parish nurse at Trinity United Methodist Church; a nurse volunteer at the Crossover Clinic and was a member of the Trinity Medical Mission Team to Honduras. Services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, November 18, 2013, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 903 Forest Avenue in Richmond. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Foundation/Peters Mission Fund or Friends of Barnabas, Honduras Medical Mission.
