Kay, died January 7, 2014 at Christus Jasper Memorial Hospital.
A longtime Jasper resident she worked as a long distance operator during WWII while her husband was in the service. She was devoted to her family, a Staunch Member and Lydia Sunday School class member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. Kay loved being with friends and working outside in the yard with flowers.
She is survived by two sons Barry J. Powell and wife Pam and Richard D. Powell and wife Kay all of Jasper, three grandchildren Devin Powell, Ryan Powell and Cade Powell, four great grandchildren Carson Powell, Jessica Craptree, Brayden Powell and Lauren Powell.
Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Jasper.
