Henry M. Filer, 71 years old of Marble Hill, died Saturday at Rose Hill Nursing Home at Festus, where he had been taken Thursday after becoming seriously ill. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Henry Filer, born June 16, 1886 at Cincinnati, Ohio.
He spent the greater portion of his life on a farm near Marble Hill.
On May 28, 1913 he was married to Miss Dosha J. Lincoln. She preceded him in death March 22, 1956.
He was a member of the Methodist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Milford Filer of Festus, Mo.; Medford Filer of Bloomsdale, Mo.; six grandchildren; two brothers Walter Filer of Fredericktown, Mo.; Charles Filer of Marble Hill, Mo.; five sisters all of this community, Mrs. Flora Kinder; Mrs. C.E. Lincoln; Mrs. John W. Baker; Mrs. John Kinder and Mrs. Richey Leadbetter.
Funeral services were Monday at the Methodist Church in Marble Hill. Fred Shrum conducted the rites and burial was in Bollinger County Memorial Cemetery with Ward Funeral Home of Lutesville.
