Evelyn Hess, 83, of Oxford passed away on January 8, 2014 at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 11th at the Oxford First Baptist Church in Oxford. Burial will be in the Oxford Cemetery. Evelyn Irene Hess was born on September 5, 1930 the daughter of George and Margaret Prose in Ransom, Kansas. She was an artist who enjoyed and taught silver smithing, woodcarving and oil painting. She enjoyed yard work, remodeling and landscaping.
Survivors include her children; Jim Yanda and wife India of Oxford, Melvin Yanda and wife Lan of Enterprise, AL, Priscilla McVey of Greeley, Colorado and Kirt Hess and wife Dee of Greeley, Colorado, 4 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her parents and brothers, Gary Prose and Dean Rauch.
