Estol Phillip Porter, 89, of Solsberry, passed away at 9:45 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, 2002, at his residence. Born Sept. 3, 1913, in Greene County, he was the son of Lee and Mary Jane (Isom) Porter. He was assistant supervisor of the art gallery in the Fine Arts Department at Indiana University, retired. He was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Bloomington and was a Sunday School teacher at the church for over 60 years, and a deacon at the church for over 50 years. Survivors include his wife, Azie M. (Michael) Porter of Solsberry; one son, Clifford Earl Porter of Solsberry; one daughter, Wilma Jean Livingston of Solsberry; five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Beatrice Faye Porter; six brothers; two sisters; and his parents. Funeral services will be at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday with the Revs. Chester Hacker, Rev. Bob Whitehead and Rev. Jon Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Newark Cemetery.
