Mr. Schwalm was a retired steel worker at the former Bethlehem Steel Company in Steelton, retiring in 1985.
He was educated in the Klingerstown area schools and enjoyed woodworking, hunting and playing cards.
He was a member of the Zion Lutheran (Klingers) Church in Erdman, where he was a former church council member. He currently served on the Zion Cemetery Association Board of Directors; was a member of the Hegins Valley Rotary, the Klingerstown Fire Company, the Millersburg Moose, and the Woodmen of the World Lodge, Camp #433 of Pitman.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley V. (Erdman) Schwalm, who died January 23, 1995.
