For over thirty years, he was employed as a long haul semi-trailer truck driver, going all over North America. Charles was forced to retire in 1992 due to a medical condition. He moved from Idaho back to Caro and has lived here since.
Charles enjoyed hunting, fishing and working on his old car.
Charles is survived by three sons, two daughters, and their spouses, Timothy & Susan Klinesmith of Mayville, Jeff Klinesmith of Croswell, Charles Klinesmith of Saginaw, Beth Marie & Mike Valentine of Pigeon, Jari & James Mahoney of Armada; twenty grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Roy Klinesmith of Arizona, Ray Klinesmith and his wife, Sharon of Millington; two sisters, Donna Rohleder of Caro, Elsie Stratton of Flint; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Shelly Kay Klinesmith.
In keeping with Mr. Klinesmith's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service was held Saturday, June 23, 2012 at the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Caro with Pastor Michael Wester officiating.
