Born on December 6, 1945 in Salisbury, NC, he was a son of the late Lee Fulton Horton, Sr. and Monelle Hudson Horton. He was predeceased by a son, Michael Hudson Horton.
Lee received his bachelor's degree in business administration from UNC Chapel Hill and a B. S. in engineering from NC State. He moved to North Myrtle Beach in 1976, where he began his career in real estate development; owning and operating a number of motels in North Myrtle Beach. He possessed the wonderful quality of being able to work hard and play hard, enjoying and appreciating the finer things of life. Upon retirement, Lee fulfilled one of his lifelong dreams, living on the oceanfront. He will forever be remembered as a loving daddy, father-in-law and best friend to his children.
Survivors include his son, Lee Fulton Horton III and wife, Jennifer of North Myrtle Beach; his daughter, Julie Elizabeth Horton of Myrtle Beach and his sister, Nancy Horton of Charlotte, NC.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, January 10, 2014 at McMillan-Small Funeral Home with Dr. J. Kirk Lawton, Jr. officiating.
