He was the oldest son of Julius and Mary Jane Plonty. May 29, 1895, he was united in marriage to Sara Smith of Alden, Minn. He is survived by his wife, two brothers, Joe Plonty of Binghampton, N. Y. and Julius Plonty of Minneapolis, one sister, Mrs. Lottie Kiehl of Mechanicsville, Iowa; three nephews and three nieces. One sister, Mrs. Jessie Taylor of Spring Valley passed away four years ago. As a young man, Mr. Plonty was employed as a clerk in the store of Mr. Studivent. Later he became butter maker at which occupation he worked for 25 years, retiring from active work 20 years ago. He was a member of the Spring Valley orchestra and band. Since retiring, he has lived at 215 Huron Avenue, where he passed away Saturday morning, July 9, at the age of 82 years. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Distel's funeral home with Rev. Russell Dierdorff of the Congregational church officiating.
