Carolyn Polk HelmsROCK HILL - Carolyn Polk Helms, 75, of Rock Hill, S.C., passed away on Friday, Dec. 20, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, at Mt. Holly United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Born in Rock Hill, she was a daughter of Nolan B. Polk Sr. and Cora P. Polk. Carolyn enjoyed a long career as a legal secretary with Spencer & Spencer, P.A. Her retirement years were spent traveling the country with her husband, Tommy and enjoying her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brothers, Harry, Nolen Jr., Roy, Gene and John; and her sister, Anne Tibbetts. She is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Thomas E. Helms; daughters, Cathy (Rick) Long of Savannah and Donna (Keith) Corley of Irmo; sisters, Doris Baker and Martha Faye Adams; and grandchildren, Jordan (Alana) Long, Caitlin Long, Mary Catherine Corley and Chris Corley.
