Waco, Texas - Kenneth K. Kenny, 76, of Waco, Texas, and formerly of the Hecla, Houghton and Groton area, died Monday, Nov. 29, 2004, at the Veterans' Hospital in Tempo, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004, at the Hecla City Cemetery with Rev. Randy Battey officiating. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Stanley Stearns American Legion Post #68. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Thursday at Miller-Huebl Funeral Home, 1111 S. Main St., Aberdeen. Ken Kenny was born Nov. 21, 1928, to George H. and Tillie L. (Wanttie) Kenny. His service in the Army and Air Force took him around the world and finally to James Connally Air Force Base in Waco, Texas, where he met and married Marvis Gammon. He settled in Waco after an honorable discharge from the Air Force. Ken graduated from Baylor University with a degree in accounting. He specialized in tax preparation after a year internship with Price Walter House in Houston, Texas, auditing major oil and insurance companies. He started his own business in 1961 after urging from his largest clients and retired from that business in 1997. He had many special clients and was highly regarded during his long career. Ken was an avid big game hunter and fisherman. He would catch fish when no one else was. He instilled his love of the outdoors in his sons, who hunted and fished with him. Survivors include brothers Bob, and Allen and his wife Phyllis of Hecla, Sterling and his wife Ruth of Houghton, and Terry of Groton. He is also survived by his daughters Kathleen Cherry of Richardson, Texas, Karen Albright of Belton, Texas and son Kevin of Waco, Texas. He has six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Casketbearers will be his brothers and nephews, Tom Kenny and Terry Kenny Jr. A meal will be served at the Houghton Alliance Church after the services.
