Frederick Willis Cook, Jr. passed away December 31, 2013 after a short illness.
His family came to Tracy in the early 1930's. He attended local schools, Old Central Elementary on Central Avenue, West Park on 10th Street. He was a member of the Tracy High School Class of 1945.
He served in the Navy at the end of World War II and again during the Korean Conflict. He joined Holly Sugar in 1949 as an Electrician. In 1960 he was named Assistant Master Mechanic at Brawley, CA Holly Sugar Plant. In 1967 he transferred to Holly's main office in Colorado Springs, CO as Eastern District Engineer where he spent 9 years. In 1976, he returned to Tracy when Holly opened their Western District office, as Western Division Manager. Retiring in 1993 after 44 years.
After retiring he spent his time playing golf, attending Navy and family reunions around the country. He was a member of the Tracy Breakfast Lions, Elks, American Legion and the VFW.
Each morning at 6:00 am he had coffee with a group of his friends at Sutter Hospital.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years Elizabeth (Fairbanks) Cook, two daughters Linda Beek of Cheyenne Wells, CO and Cynthia Adams of Monument, CO. He leaves behind two sisters Frieda Dotson of San Pablo, CA and Faith Simpson of Stockton, CA, 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Opal and Frederick Willis Cook Sr. and one son Frederick Wayne Cook.
