Margaret "Betty" Elizabeth Venable, 95, a retired Palmer High School Cafeteria worker, died January 5, 2014 at home.

Mrs. Venable was born April 1, 1918 to Joe and Sue Reynolds Baggett in Colorado Springs, Colorado and soon after was raised around Ellicott, Colorado. She was married February 29, 1940, in Colorado Springs to Edward E. Venable. Mrs. Venable had worked at the Palmer High Cafeteria as a baker, cook, and server. She was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church. She was also a member of I.O.O.F. Lodge.

She had lived in Colorado since birth and enjoyed bowling, traveling, her grandchildren, and friends. She had given a lot to helping other people, organizations, and family.

She is survived by three sons: Dwain in Matheson, Colorado, Gary in Kingman, Arizona, Bob in Pueblo West, Colorado; 7 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Frances Sue Baggett, husband, and parents. May she join those in heaven!

Friends may call on Friday, January 10, 2014 from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. at Bethany Baptist Church, 1930 West Colorado Avenue, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. also at the church. Entombment will be at Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
