He was born March 13, 1911, in Normalville, a son of the late Benjamin J, and Minnie R. White Nicholson.
Tom was a lifelong resident of Clinton and was a steelmill worker for U. S. Steel at Homestead works, where he retired in 1974. Before working for the steel company, Tom worked as coal miner and timeberman. Although Tom worked in several different types of jobs throughout his life, the one thing he liked best was being a farmer. He was a member of the Steel Workers Union and the UMWA. He also attended the Mt Zion Community Church in Acme.
He is survived by three sons, Earl Eugene Nicholson and his wife Carolyn of Hazelton, Pa., Homer A. Nicholson and his wife Evelyn of Normalville, and Clark T. Nicholson and his wife, Brenda, also of Normalville; three daughters, Ethel Hawk and her husband, Vernon, of Normalville, Doris Chapman, Normalville, and Leah J. Taynton and her husband, Douglas, of Citrus Heights Calif.; 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Edith P. Layman Nicholson, in 1970; two infant grandchildren, Brenda and Mark Hawk; and the following brothers and sisters, Allen, Frank, Austin, Caroline, Albert and John Nicholson, Etta Richter, Jesse, Harry and Henry Nicholson, Ida Kent, George and William Nicholson, Florence Miller Leasure and an infant sister. Interment in Greenlick Cemetery, Bullskin Township.
