Roger Allen Fitzgerald, 54, of Rainelle, West Virginia, formerly of Charlottesville, passed away peacefully Thursday, December 19, 2013, at his home. Born February 13, 1959, in Charlottesville, he was the son of Mary Lamb Glover, of Charlottesville. Roger worked as a painter. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and hiking. Survivors include his wife, Darlene Hoffer Fitzgerald; three sons, Dusty Glover (Tyler) of Virginia, Shawn Fitzgerald of Maryland, and Rodger Fitzgerald Jr. of California; four daughters Melanie Gray (Antoine) of Maryland, Jennifer Fitzgerald and Angela Fitzgerald, both of Virginia, and Allison Fitzgerald of Maryland; one brother, Thomas Fitzgerald (Donna) of Virginia; and 11 grandchildren. As per his request, the body was cremated. Services will be private. Arrangements by Smathers Funeral Chapel, Inc., Rainelle, West Virginia.
