Mrs. Mary Georgia Cathey, of Wynne, Arkansas, departed this life on Monday, January 6, 2014, at the age of 92.
She was born August 8, 1921, in Wynne, Arkansas, the daughter of Forrest and Thelma Stone Smith.
Mrs. Cathey was a member of the Harris Chapel Baptist Church and was homemaker for most of her life, but for a few years she ran the Bob's Dairy Dip in Wynne. She enjoyed mowing the yard; in fact she went through several lawn mowers over the years. Mary also helped work the family fish pond. She enjoyed life and spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Melvin Eugene Cathey, and two brothers, Edward Smith and Woodrow Smith.
Mary was survived by: two sons: James Cathey and wife Muriel of Wynne, Arkansas, Harold Cathey and wife Pattie of St. Albans, West Virginia, one stepson: Franklin Cathey and wife Shirley of Drummonds, Tennessee, one brother: Leo Smith of Wynne, and many grandchildren, great grand-children and great great grand-children.
Burial was in Harris Chapel Cemetery in Wynne, Arkansas with Thompson-Wilson Wynne Funeral Home in charge.
