June L. Roethler, age 82 of Boone, Iowa formerly of Elma passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake, Iowa.

June L. Nolda was born on June 8, 1931, to Jacob and Amalia (Gies) Nolda in Hayfield, Iowa. She attended Crystal Lake School through eighth grade and attended high school in Elma, Iowa, where she graduated in 1949.

On November 7, 1953, she married the love of her life, John "Jack" Roethler. They had two children; a son, Jerry and a daughter, Janis.

June loved being a mother and wife and dedicated much of her time to caring for her family. She liked the farm life and was often found doing chores or working in the field. In her later years, she managed the bakery in Evenson's grocery in Riceville.

She enjoyed sewing, gardening, crocheting, reading, and above all else, spending time with her grandchildren. She was known for her loving, strong and humorous nature and will forever be an inspiration to her family.

June is survived by her son, Jerry Roethler of Clear Lake, Iowa; a daughter, Janis (Randy) Anderson of Ames, Iowa; brother, Harry (Barb) Nolda of Strawberry Point, Iowa; brother-in-law, Harold Blitsch of Versailles, MO; five grandchildren: Tom (Becca), Steve, and Jon Roethler; and Trae and Lexi Anderson; three nephews and six nieces.

June was preceded in death by her husband, John "Jack" Roethler in 1985; her parents, Jacob and Amalia Nolda; 2 brothers: Richard Nolda and Robert Nolda; 2 sisters: Esther Blitsch and Marian Hammond; brother-in-law, Bill Hammond; sister-in-law, Ruth Nolda and a nephew, Mark Hammond.
