Tracy Eugene Alexander 48, of Van Alstyne passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Allen Presbyterian Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. He continued to work until one week before his passing for Allied Interiors, Dallas, Texas. Tracy was a hardworking, brilliant commercial builder. Throughout his career his projects included shopping malls and other projects in New Mexico, Iowa and Hawaii and many cities across Texas. Tracy was born December 30, 1965 to Harold and Annette Alexander in Irving, Texas. He married Kitty Phillips of Van Alstyne and they became parents to two sons, Jacob Alexander and Joshua Alexander both of Van Alstyne. Tracy is survived by his wife of 26 years, Kitty Alexander, sons Jacob Alexander of Van Alstyne, and Joshua Alexander of Van Alstyne, Mother Annette Alexander of Van Alstyne, one brother Kenny Alexander of Van Alstyne, three sisters, Lisa Kirley, of Van Alstyne, Jeanette West, of Anna, and Jennifer Stanley of Arp, Texas, half sister, Teresa Barker and half brother, Michael Freeland and numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. Tracy was preceded in death by his father Harold Alexander and niece Sarah Harvey. Pallbearers will be Kenny Alexander, Brent Murley, Brian Caraway, John Kirley, Gary West and Todd Stanley. Services will be held at 3:30 pm Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Scoggins Funeral Home Chapel in Van Alstyne. Burial will follow in the Van Alstyne Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. At other times the family will be at the home of Nellie Phillips, 700 E Cooper Street in Van Alstyne. Services are under the direction of Scoggins Funeral Home, 637 W Van Alstyne Parkway, Van Alstyne, Texas 903-482-5225.
