DUFRENE Stanley R. Dufrene, Sr., entered into eternal rest on Monday, December 30, 2013 at the age of 92. He was a lifelong resident of Des Allemands, LA. Visitation will be from 10:30 AM until 1:00 PM, Thursday, January 2, 2014 at St. Gertrude Catholic Church, Des Allemands, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 PM Thursday at St. Gertrude Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Olive Oliver Dufrene; he was the devoted father of, Penelope Walker, Stanley Roy Dufrene and wife Sandra, Leighton Dufrene and wife Wendy, Kristopher Dufrene and wife Christine and Aurora Romero and husband Alex; grandfather of, Terence and Benjamin Walker, Kristi Arens, Brandi Passman, Trisha Guidry, Peyton Dufrene, Hollin Caire, Alexandre, Ariel and Andre Romero; great grandfather of, Avery and Julia Walker, Peyton and Emerson Arens, Jake and Cooper Passman, Karsyn, Parker and Dax Guidry, Harper Dufrene, Koa and Madyn Romero. Loving brother of, Nola Spiess and Myrtle Naquin and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Egnace Dufrene and Agnes Trauth Dufrene, brothers, Landry, Albert, Johnny, Martin, Clarence, Jesse Dufrene and sisters Sidonia Savoie, Alverta Matherne and Leona Roger. He retired from Shell Oil Company after 42 years of service. He was a veteran of US Army Air Corp for 4 years during World War II and was a member of the Des Allemands American Legion Post 316. He attended LSU. Falgout Funeral Homes in charge of arrangements.
