He was a Private with Company D 1st Cavalry Me Volunteers Wounded at Sheperdstown, VA July 16 1863 According to the Maine Veterans' Cemetery Records this was the Elisha Vose who was born in October 1803 in Robbinston and died June 17, 1874.
BUT his son Elisha, age 20, enlisted the same day....
