John A. Sansing, who was born in Fulton, was killed March 4, 1965 when his helicopter fell at Columbus, Ga., where he was stationed in service. He was 25. Services were held March 9 in West Heights Baptist Church in Pontotoc with burial in the church cemetery with Baldwin Funeral Home of Pontotoc in charge. He was a helicopter mechanic and was checking out a machine when the accident which took his life occurred. He was married to the former Miss Betty Walls of near Pontotoc. He was a Baptist.
Survivors included his wife; two daughters, Lisa and Michele of the home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Aubrey Sansing of Fulton; a brother, Michael of Germany; two sisters, Miss Mevalyn Sansing of Fulton and Mrs. Patricia Waters of Pontotoc.
The body lay in state at the home of his wife's mother, Mrs. W. W. Walls on highway 15 South near Pontotoc until the service.
