Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. A self-proclaimed 'tinkerer', he spent some of his spare time locksmithing, raising fish and making wine. He had been a member of the Meriden Evangelical Free Church for 30 years.
Larry passed away at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, IA on Saturday, January 4, 2014, at the age of 71. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant son, Brian Petersen.
Survivors include his wife, Maureen of Cherokee; his children and their families: L. Dale Petersen and special friend, Lydia Huber of Minneapolis, MN, Blaine Petersen and wife Cynthia of Chicago, IL, Sheri Petersen of Minneapolis, MN and Russell Petersen of Chicago, IL; three grandchildren, Christopher Menton, Calvin Petersen and Justice Petersen; a brother, Layten and wife Peggy Petersen of Post Falls, ID; along with cousins, nephews, niece and many friends.
