Obituary from the Edwardsville Intelligencer, Edwardsville, Madison County, Illinois, Tuesday, March 14, 1967, page 10:
   Everett R. Butcher of Route 1, Worden, a carpenter for the past 20 years, died Monday of 10:25 p.m. at St. Joseph's Hospital in Highland. He had been a hospital patient one day.
   Mr. Butcher, 61, was born Sept. 30 at Troy, a son of the late Louis and Lulla Cline Butcher. His wife, the former Elsie M. Tiek, died on Feb. 11.  The couple was married April 30, 1927 at Collinsville.
   Surviving are two children, Everett E. Butcher and Mrs. John (Ellen) Strader, both of Route 1, Worden; three brothers and two sisters, Wilbur of Highland, Harold of Edwardsville, Clarence Butcher and Mrs. Joseph (Clara) Barnett of Troy and Mrs. Jay (Helen) Presler of Chicago. There are six grandchildren.
   Mr. Butcher was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, Worden, and Carpenters Local 633 of Granite City.
   Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Weber Funeral Home. Final rites will be conducted Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
   The Rev. William Robertson, pastor of New Hope Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Valley View Gardens of Memory. The family requests memorials be given to the Heart Fund.

Pallbearers were Tom Taylor, Mike Kostyshock, John Butcher, Edgar Borst, Wayne Cline and J.L. Strader.
