Ocean City: Brent Sharp, age 66, died peacefully at his home in Ocean City on Friday January 3, 2014. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Robert Sharp and June Mildred. He is survived by his former wife of 27 years, Valerie Kim Woosdward Sharp; son, Brent Robert Joseph Sharp and fiancée Cheryl Werner of Snow Hill, MD; daughter, Brittany Lynn Sharp and fiancé Sean Doyle of Ocean City; brother, Denny M. Sharp; and niece, Kelly Anderson. Brent was a devoted father. He was a retired Lieutenant of NY Department of Corrections. He enjoyed craftmanswork--building & landscaping, fishing, was a diehard Buffalo Bills fan and a member of the Ocean City American Legion. He enjoyed refurbishing his son Brent's home in Snow Hill. Brent once surprised Brittany on her 16th birthday, with a Volkswagon hidden in the garage in New York. He greatly appreciated the gift of his beautiful children from Valerie. Denny, I'll always watch over you. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January, 8, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Whatcoat United Methodist Church in Snow Hill. Friends may call on hour prior to the service. The Rev. Andy Frick will officiate. Interment will follow in Whatcoat cemetery in Snow Hill. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Whatcoat United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 272, Snow Hill, MD, 21863.
